1. Bodleian Library The first stop on our tour is the Bodleian Library, one of the oldest and largest libraries in Europe. The library consists of several buildings, but we will focus on two of them: The Divinity School and the Duke Humfrey’s Library.<\/b> The Divinity School is a stunning medieval hall with a vaulted ceiling and intricate carvings. It was used as the location for Hogwarts Infirmary<\/b> in the first and fourth movies, where Harry <\/b>recovers from his encounters with Voldemort and learns how to dance with Professor McGonagall. It was also used as the restricted section of the Hogwarts Library<\/b>, where Harry<\/b> sneaks in under his invisibility cloak to find information about Nicolas Flamel. The Duke Humfrey’s Library is the oldest reading room in the Bodleian Library, dating back to the 15th century. It houses a collection of rare books and manuscripts, including some of the earliest printed books in Europe. It was also used as the location for the Hogwarts Library<\/b>, where Harry, Ron, and Hermione study and research various topics throughout the movies. The next stop on our tour is New College, one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges in Oxford. The college was founded in 1379 by William of Wykeham, who also founded Winchester College. The college has a beautiful cloistered garden, a magnificent chapel, and a stunning dining hall. The cloistered garden was used as the location for several scenes in the fourth movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It is here where Harry confronts Malfoy, who mocks him for being chosen as a champion in the Triwizard Tournament. It is also here where Mad-Eye Moody turns Malfoy into a ferret and punishes him for his insolence. In the middle of the garden stands a large oak tree, which was planted in 1827 and is one of the oldest trees in Oxford and used in the filming of harry Potter. The dining hall was not used as a filming location, but it was the inspiration for the Great Hall at Hogwarts. The hall has a high ceiling with wooden beams, stained glass windows, portraits of famous alumni, and long tables with benches. The final stop on our tour is Christ Church, one of the largest and most influential colleges in Oxford. The college was founded in 1546 by King Henry VIII, who also made it a cathedral. The college has a splendid quad, a magnificent cathedral, and a stunning dining hall. The quad is where you can see the entrance to the dining hall, which was used as the location for several scenes in the first two movies, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It is here where Professor McGonagall welcomes Harry and his classmates to Hogwarts and leads them to the sorting ceremony. It is also here where Harry meets Nearly Headless Nick, one of the resident ghosts at Hogwarts. The dining hall was also used as a filming location for several scenes in the first two movies. It is here where you can see the inspiration for the Great Hall at Hogwarts, with its high ceiling, long tables, stained glass windows, and portraits of famous alumni. The hall is also where Harry sees his father’s name on a Quidditch trophy and learns that he is a natural seeker. The cathedral was not used as a filming location, but it is worth visiting for its beauty and history. It is one of the smallest cathedrals in England, but it has a rich collection of art and architecture, including a famous stained glass window by Edward Burne-Jones, a medieval shrine of St Frideswide, and a tomb of Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland.
